Dearest friends and family:

Jane K. Freeman, 88, passed to be with our Lord on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 after complications from a brief illness and hospital stay. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia on June 29, 1928. After living in Miami and Key West, she and her family moved to the Space Coast in 1966.
Closest to her heart was her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. All who knew her will miss her sweet southern voice and her caring ways.

Her career centered on her love for children. She was the First Baptist Church of Merritt Island's Kindergarten Director the first year it opened and had a part in starting what is now Merritt Island Christian School. She taught workshops, mentored teachers, developed curriculum and taught Bible classes to children for many years. She loved her job but most of all she was a professional Mom.

She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Spencer L Freeman; her children Don Freeman (Susan), Rebecca Freeman (Mark), Lorraine Wakefield (Cameron) and Kathy Cusmano (Mike); her grandchildren, Emma McCloud (Josh), Spencer Cusmano, Rachel Wakefield and Nina Cusmano; her great-grandchildren, Noah Fitzgerald, Gavyn McCloud and Gage McCloud.

A gathering of friends will begin at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 1 at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial with a celebration of life memorial by Pastor Richard Fuller at 2 p.m.
Interment will be at Florida Memorial Gardens.
The family wishes to thank Wuesthoff Hospice for the wonderful care given to Jane. Their caring and endearing ways comforted the family during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution made in Jane's name to Wuesthoff Brevard Hospice, 8060 Spyglass Hill Road, Viera, Florida 32940

Thank you for all the thoughts, prayers and love for our family.
