Jay Whisler of Warminster passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2016. He was 80. Jay was the beloved husband of Christine (nee Sellers) Whisler with whom he had shared over 48 years of marriage. He was born in Philadelphia and was a son of the late Jacob and Mary Whisler. In addition to his wife, Jay is survived by two children Ed Whisler and his wife Jean and Susan LaPlaunt and her husband Curtis, and three grandchildren Dylan, Katie and Jessica. Jay was also preceded in death by a brother Raymond Whisler. He was a graduate of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and was a longtime employee of Bell Telephone Company retiring in 1997. He enjoyed coaching his children's sports teams and was an avid fan of all Philadelphia sports teams. Relatives and friends will be received by his family on Sunday evening after 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Monday, December 5th after 10 a.m. followed by his Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. in Schneider Funeral Home, 431 N. York Road, Hatboro. His interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jay's memory may be made to St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 505 N. York Road, Hatboro, PA 19040.
