ean "Gina" G. (Albarelli) Fercenia, Of Burlington, passed Monday morning September 9, 2011 at the McClure Miller VNA Respite House in Colchester after a lengthy illness. She was 93. Mom was gift we shall forever hold in our hearts; she shared love, laughter, and rich joyful moments with her family and friends. Born in Burlington, the daughter of the late Michael and Philomena (Perotta) Albarelli, she was raised and resided in the "Little Italy" section of the City. Mrs. Fercenia attended and graduated from the Cathedral Grammar and High Schools. She was a devout Catholic and consummate homemaker, caring for her family through generations. She made her home open and welcoming for all and delighted in cooking "Sunday Dinners" for family and friends. Mrs. Fercenia took the most joy from her grand and great grandchildren. She inspired all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren to follow their hearts, chase their dreams and believe in miracles. A prolific reader, she enjoyed writing and journaling and was an avid golf, tennis and bridge player in her younger years. Mrs. Fercenia was the receptionist for over 20 years at her daughter's "Salon Capri". Mrs. Fercenia was predeceased by her loving husband, James J. Fercenia, her first granddaughter, Suzanne Reitwiesner and her seven brothers. She is survived by her daughters, Karen Reitwiesner and her husband George of New Fairfield, CT, Susan "Susi" Douglas of Essex, Kathi Banovic and her husband David of Colchester and Deborah Richardson and her husband Scott of Essex Junction and her grandchildren, John Reitwiesner, James "Jim" Douglas, Gina Normand, Katie Johnson and Morgan Benoit. She is also survived by her 7 great grandchildren and many dear nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Jean's Life on Thursday at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 4 Prospect Street, Essex Junction. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Burlington. The Fercenia Family would like express their utmost thanks and gratitude to wonderful staff of the VNA and the McClure Miller Respite House for the care they gave to their mother.
