Beloved wife and mother Hopewell: Jean(Hudson)Sharp, passed away, at age 78. The Lord peacefully lifted her up to be one of his angels on February 26, 2011. Jean touched the hearts of everyone and was loved by all. She leaves behind her loving husband, Luther L. Sharp, Jr.; her children, Sandra M. Sharp-Bauch (Wayne Bauch), Janice L. Sharp, Stephen J.(Pamela Gage)Sharp; grandchildren, Matthew Cain, Bailey Sharp, Brittany Sharp, Jason Pond, Austin Foran, Jennifer Bauch and Aaron Bauch; great-grandchild, Casey Bauch; sisters, Vivian Dwyer and Karen Tokat; brother, Brian Hudson; and niece, Linda Rohrig. Jean was born July 2, 1932 in Red Creek, NY the daughter of Fred and Elsie(Scott)Hudson. She grew up in the Red Creek area and attended Red Creek Schools. She went on to attend The State University at Oswego where she received her teaching degree. Jean was married to Luther L. Sharp, Jr. in Red Creek and settled down on Big Bay, Brewerton, NY to begin their family. They later relocated to the Canandaigua area in the 1970's. Throughout her 29-year career, she taught at Baldwinsville, Cicero, and Central Square Schools and retired from the Phelps School District in 1988. As a teacher who had a waiting list of students who wished to be in her classroom, Jean was very dedicated to her students throughout her life. She was a woman of unshakable faith and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Canandaigua. She was an active member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, having spent many volunteer hours as an instructor. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at the Canandaigua Methodist Church on Saturday, May 28 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 3300 Monroe Ave., Suite 319, Rochester, NY 14618, The Hope Hall School, 1612 Buffalo Rd., Rochester, NY 14624 or to Strong Memorial Hospital Solid Organ Transplant Family Unit Fund, 601 Elmwood Ave, Rochester, NY 14620.
