Jeanne M. Charpentier, 87, of Manchester, died December 13, 2016 at the Villa Crest Nursing & Retirement Center after a lengthy illness. She was born in Manchester on January 18, 1929 the daughter of Joseph and Mary (O'Dowd) Deslandes. As a young girl, Jeanne and her family moved to Laconia where she was educated in the local system. She was a graduate of Laconia High School.

She relocated back to the Queen City where she met and married the love of her life Albert Charpentier. She was a member of St. Anne's Sodality. She loved music and singing and was adamant about completing her daily crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed playing cards and was active in the local bowling and cribbage leagues. Jeanne loved caring for her family and was the consummate homemaker who always put the needs of her family above everything else. She enjoyed getting together with her family and friends and will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years Albert "Al" Charpentier in November of 2016 and her grandson Christopher Mongeau.

Members of her family include her three daughters Jeannine Mongeau and her husband Leonard of Auburn, Diane Berube and her husband Andre of Hooksett and Rita Desbiens and her husband Mark of Goffstown, her grandsons Matthew Berube and Brian Berube and his wife Katie Lynn and her great-granddaughter Kennedy Berube.

Visitation was held on Monday December 19 from 5 to 8 pm at the McHugh Funeral Home 283 Hanover St. corner of Beech St. in Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday December 20 at 10 am in St. Raphael Church 103Walker St. Manchester. Burial followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in Jeanne's be made to the Villa Crest Nursing & Retirement Center Alzheimer's Unit 1276 Hanover St. Manchester, NH 03104 or to the NH Association for the Blind 25 Walker St. Concord, NH 03301.
