Jeff Kochis, age 65, of Spring Hill, Florida, died on Saturday, June 3, 2017, at Oak Hill Hospital, in Brooksville. Jeff was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on February 23, 1952, to the late Francis & Margaret (Conners) Kochis. Jeff was a 34 year resident coming from the greater Poughkeepsie, NY area in 1983 to Spring Hill. While in New York, Jeff worked as an Electrician for Fairchild Electric. After moving to Florida, Jeff worked for USF / University Of South Florida, St. Pete Campus, as a Maintenance Mechanic. Jeff was an avid NASCAR fan, was allowed to work on a pit crew for a couple of races, and recently became very active with on-line real time Nascar Racing Gaming, and belonged to group of racers. He also enjoyed woodworking just like his father before, and created lawn art. He loved his dogs, Midgee & Lilly, and he loved his family most of all. Jeff was preceded by his parents; devastated by the death of his wife, Patrice (Spoerer) Kochis, in 2011, and the loss of his nephew, Paul Marvella in 2017. Jeff is lovingly survived by his children; son, Jason Kochis of Atlanta, GA. Daughter and son-in-law, Melissa & Brian Buchan, of Spring Hill, FL. and son, Justin Kochis of Spring Hill, FL. Jeff will be greatly missed by his grandchildren; grandson, Sebastian Kochall, of Woodbridge, VA, granddaughter, Brianna Buchan, and triplet grandsons, Braden, Bryson, and Brody Buchan all of Spring Hill, FL. Jeff leaves behind a brother, Wayne Kochis of West Palm Beach, FL. and sister, Wendy Marvella and her husband George Marvella, of Spring Hill, FL. as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral arrangements and care are entrusted to Turner Funeral Home, 14360 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL 34609. At Jeff’s request, all services will be private.
