Jerry was married to Bette Nelson Roth for 52 years and the two of them maintained an active retired lifestyle until complications of advanced age set in. Jerry and Bette travelled all over the country visiting friends and relatives and made regular trips to Sheboygan for Jerry's high school reunions. They stayed in close contact with good friends like the Kluge's and Stillwell's, friends that Jerry grew up with since childhood. Summer adventures together with these friends were always enjoyable. Jerry and Bette spent the summers in Raymond, Maine on Papoose Island where Jerry would spend the evenings fishing on the dock or cruising Sebago Lake. They also enjoyed seeing the world on cruise ships and were regular visitors to Las Vegas. They wintered in Vero Beach, FL where Jerry kept busy golfing and working as a volunteer tax preparer for the AARP.
Survivors include his son Tom of Auburn and his fiance, Nicole Dunbar and granddaughters Emily Roth and Olivia Roth of Auburn. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Bette in 2014 and his brother Dr. Richard Roth of Madison, WI.
Tom wants to thank the compassionate caregivers that Jerry had in his final years at Montello Heights, Clover Manor and Androscoggin Hospice and Hospice House.
