Jerry Charles Roth, age 77, of Collinsville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Edwardsville Nursing & Rehab Center. Jerry was born on August 2, 1937 in St. Charles, MO, a son to the late Irwin Charles Roth and Verna Kathrine (Priep) Roth. On September 26, 1957, Jerry married Roberta "Jeanne" Wilson, the love of his life, in Flat Rock, IL. Jerry was a United States Air Force Veteran who proudly served his country. He was a member of Navigation Church in Collinsville, IL, Moose Lodge and V.F.W. Post # 1299, both in Edwardsville, IL. Jerry had retired from Boeing in 2000 as a machinist after forty-two years of dedicated service. He was a devoted husband who loved tending to his wife and spending time with his family and friends, he also enjoyed coin collecting. Jerry loved life, he loved to laugh, but most of all he loved his family. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Jerry is survived by his devoted wife of fifty-seven years, Jeanne Roth of Collinsville, IL; loving children, Lisa (Norman) Bennett of Arnold, MO and David (Leslee) Roth of Macedonia, OH; dear brother, Robert (Pat) Roth of St. Charles, MO; proud grandfather to Matt Taylor, Jeremy Bennett, Jessica (Brad) Howard, Jordan Bennett, Shelby Moore, Madison Moore and Luke Roth and proud great-grandfather to Dean Taylor, Romy Taylor, Calvin Howard, Bennett Howard and Isaac Howard; extended family and many friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road in Glen Carbon, IL. In celebration of his life, funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 30, 2015 at Irwin Chapel, Glen Carbon, IL, with Pastor David Amsden officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the United States Air Force after the funeral service. Memorial donations may be given to American Cancer Society or to Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and will be accepted at the funeral chapel.
