Mr. Jerry Kenneth Peeples, age 77, of Toccoa, GA passed away Friday, June 16, 2017 at his home.

Born December 15, 1939 in Homer, Ga, he was a son of the late S. P. and Reeda Caudell Peeples.

Mr. Peeples was a three-year veteran of the United States Air Force and had worked for 37 years in heavy civil construction building highways, airports, and dams among other things. He served for eight years as president of Peeples Civil Services, Inc and served for three years as a member of the Toccoa Planning Commission. Mr. Peeples attended the University of Georgia for three years. He was a County Commissioner, a Shriner, Mason, and a Deacon. He was a member of the VFW, Elks Club, and Eastanollee Baptist Church. Mr. Peeples enjoyed woodworking, traveling, and spending time with his family.

Family members include his wife, Faye Peeples; a daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Jimmy Nichols; granddaughters and their spouses, Brandy and Tony Rogers and Krystle and Phillip Walker; great-grandchildren, Kylee Rogers, Bryson Rogers, Luke Parham, Lexi Parham, and Levi Walker; brothers, Quinton Peeples and Forrest Peeples; sisters-in-law, Sara Jean Peeples, Helen Payne, and Jay Crump; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, S. P. Peeples, Jr and a sister, Helen Whitworth.

Funeral services will be held at eleven o'clock Monday, June 19, 2017 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. Ricky McFarlin and Dr. Bill Evans officiating.

Burial will follow at Stephens Memorial Gardens.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Jimmy Nichols, Phillip Walker, Tony Rogers, Luke Parham, Homer Myers, and Dale Crump.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 6pm – 8pm Sunday.

Whitlock Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
