There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under heaven

A time to welcome and a time to bid farewell: Jimmie Dene Jones, 77, of Manassas, VA, went home to be with the Lord, on November 17, 2016, at his home. He was born February 26, 1939, in Childress, Texas son of the late William Lee Jones and Lulu Beatrice Bailey. He attended Carver High School through the 10th grade and received his high school GED in the Army in September 1958.

Jimmie and Thelma Wilkerson were married on July 13, 1959 and together, raised four beautiful children.

A time to to grow and a time to learn: He served abroad in Germany, Korea, South Vietnam and Alaska and in the states of North Carolina, Virginia and Kansas. Jimmie earned the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal for service during TET 68. He retired from the active service in 1978. He was then employed as the personnel director of a civil engineering firm in Northern Virginia before starting his own business in 1988. Jimmie graduated from St. Mary's College in Xavier, Kansas in 1973 with a Bachelor's Degree (BA) in Business Administration and received his Master's Degree (MA) in Personnel Management from George Washington University in Washington DC in 1978.

Jimmie released a video called "Financial Planning" and the "Tax Booklet" in 1993. He was the Founder of the LB Bailey Foundation (named after his mother) which involved youth investments. He also was the founder and President of KidsBiz. He founded TPS (tax business) with Ms. Rose Schaffer which supported many tax/financial clients. He assisted with starting and promoting various investments clubs and he served as financial advisor to many clients. He loved working in his garden, growing various plants, vegetables and flowers.

A time to serve and a time to fellowship: Jimmie attended Sunday school and church on Sundays. He would later attend church services at the Quantico Base and accepted the Lord before passing.

A time to mourn and a time to heal: Jimmie leaves to cherish his memory his four children: Vickie Harris of Lorton, VA; Jimmie Jones, Jr. of Woodbridge, VA; Amanda Jones, Manassas, VA, and Darryl Jones of Gaithersburg, MD. Five grandchildren: TaMishka, Kathryn, Morgan, Kai, and Savannah including Darryl's stepson, Asher. Five great grandchildren: Sydni, Romeo, Ajani, Blu'Rain, and Elijah. A sister, Estellene Jones (CA). Three sister-in-laws: Charity Tarver (PA), Betty Davis (NJ), Judy Craig (NJ). Two brother-in-laws: Vell McGhee (TX) and George Craig (PA) and a host of nieces and nephews and extended family members. Preceding him in death: Two sisters: Willie Jean McGhee and Tonnie Jones. Three brother-in-laws: Edward Wilkerson, Thedelma Wilkerson, and Nelson Wilkerson: Two sister-in-laws: Christine Jones and Fadia Mae Melvin.
