Jimmie Faye Ottinger, 91, a longtime resident of Lake Jackson, Texas passed away on May 8th, 2017 at Creekside Village Healthcare, Clute, Texas. Jimmie Faye was born on August 30th, 1925 in Norphlet, AR to Lewis & Vera Thompson.
After moving to Lake Jackson, Jimmie Faye worked as a telephone operator in Freeport, she enjoyed talking about those times. She became a business owner of the "Little Mr. & Mrs. Shop" in Lake Jackson. She also worked for Gloria's Dress shop in Lake Jackson.
Jimmie Faye served the Lord throughout her life with dedication, love and commitment to being there for anyone who needed her. She was a longtime member of The First Christian Church of Lake Jackson, where she served with CWF.
Jimmie Faye is preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Ottinger, her sister Helene McAllister, her brother James Lewis Thompson and her son Joel T Grant.
She is survived by her son James Lewis Grant & wife Anna of Lake Jackson TX, her sister Nina Brown & husband Curtis of Magnolia, Arkansas, Granddaughter Sallie Kent & husband Michael of Ft Polk LA, and three great grandchildren Hunter C Grant, Jenna M Miller, and Aubry W. Kent. She will remembered and loved by the many nieces, nephews and friends whose lives she has touched.
Our family would like to like to say a special Thank You to all the staff of Sunset Nursing Home, Inc. Jimmie Faye was a longtime resident of Oak Village & Creekside Village after she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, both facilities treated her with utmost respect and caring.
Visitation will be held on Saturday May 13th, 2017 at 10am at Restwood Funeral Home, with the Celebration of Life starting at 11am.
