Jimmie (Jim) Hardaway, 88 years old and a resident of Midwest City, OK passed
away on July 21. 2017 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born in Baxter Springs, KS on
December 3, 1928 to Frank and Josephine Barton Hardaway. Jim attended school
through the eighth grade when he then set out on his own. He performed many
jobs before joining the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Jim came home and
continued his career in the trucking industry. After retirement, his love for trucks
never ceased. He spent numerous weekends at auctions looking for the best
deals on trucks, cars, antiques and especially tools. Jim always put his
family first and was a giving, kind and generous man with an enormous heart and
many, many lifelong friends.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers, Jerry, Frank, Bob and
Claude; one sister Josephine. He is survived by his wife, Alberta Lavaughn of the
home; step-children Judi Smedra of Overland Park, KS; Patty Hawkinson of
Lenexa, KS; Everett (Karen) Cheatwood of Garland, TX. He is also survived by
Robert (Cheryl), Donald (Bonnie), John W., Sherita Bell, Anita (Terry) Webb,
Dorenda Pitner, Julie (Jeff) Goodwin all of Oklahoma. He also leaves behind
many step-grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

Services celebrating Jimmie's life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 29,
2017 at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel at 8805 N.E. 23rd, Oklahoma City, OK. Full
military honors will be rendered by a U.S Army Honors Detail.
