Mrs. Jo Mary Carver, age 85 of Adairsville, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2018. Mrs. Carver was born on September 20, 1932 in Rome, GA., a daughter of the late, Millard Mathis Fincher and Starr White Fincher.
Mrs. Carver was a constant caretaker to everyone she loved. She spent her life giving to others and serving them no matter what their needs may be. She grew up and spent her childhood in Rome, Georgia, eventually marrying the love of her life, Mr. George W. Carver and the two moved to Kennesaw, Georgia to raise their family. Along with caring for her family, Jo Mary worked for the former Kennesaw State College, now University, as an Admissions Assistant. She and her late husband were members of Kennesaw First Baptist Church where she enjoyed teaching Sunday School. Some of her favorite hobbies were playing the piano and working in her vegetable garden. Jo Mary was wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend; she will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Along with her parents, Jo Mary is preceded in death by her late husband, George W. Carver who passed in 2011.
She is survived by her four children, Neal Carver, wife Debbie, of Talking Rock, GA., Patti Brooks, husband Jeff, of Jasper GA., Alison Cronin of Cartersville, GA., and Tim Carver of Talking Rock, GA; one sister, Sarah Wright, husband Ranford, of Rome, GA; nine grandchildren, Jonathan, Shane, Amelia, Buck, Mathis, Mayson, Madison, Ethan, and Mary Jo; six great grandchildren, Clint, Lily, Emerson, Weston, Paisley, and Rhett; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends also survive.
A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Jo Mary Carver will be held at eleven o'clock in the morning on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 in the Chapel of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home with Clarence Baggett officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Ridge Memorial Park.
A visitation with the family will take place from five o'clock in the afternoon until eight on Monday, January 8, 2018 at the funeral home.
The following gentlemen have been requested to serve as pallbearers, Jonathan Carver, Shane Carver, Buck Cronin, Mayson Carver, Ethan Brooks, and Mathis Carver.
In lieu of customary remembrances the family request donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
