Joan Margaret Wolfrom was born on August 30th, 1930 to Laura and Louis Wolfrom in Rhinelander, WI. As a young woman and because of health problems she moved to Phoenix, AZ, where she lived for many years. After retiring from teaching, she moved to Glencroft Retirement Community. She graduated magna cum laude from Ashland College, Ashland, WI. At the University of Arizona, Tucson she received a Master's Degree in Music Education. Joan retired after 43 years of teaching. She was president of the Women's Missionary Society of Arizona as well as secretary and vice president. Joan was on the board at the Phoenix Art Museum, on a committee at the Heard Museum and vice president of Retired Teachers Association. She served as president of Arizona Education Decathlon Society.

Joan was very active at Glencroft Retirement Community especially in the music department, directing the hand bell choir, men's quartet and various entertainment functions.

Joan leaves to cherish her memory, sisters-in-law Dorice Wolfrom, Des Moines, WA, and Margaret Wolfrom, Racine WI; many nieces and nephews and their families whom Joan loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Allan, James and Louis as well as her sister Ailene.

The celebration of her life will take place on November 6th, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Grace Lutheran Church, 5600 W. Palmaire Ave Glendale, AZ. Following the service Joan will be interred at Resthaven Park Cemetery at 64th Ave and Northern.
