Joan Patricia Phillips, 75, of Colora, MD, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015. Born in Wilmington, DE on April 7, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Vanis and Estelle Brown Funk. Mrs. Phillips had been a cafeteria manager with the Red Clay School District for 25 years. She loved being with her family, especially her great grandchildren. She enjoyed reading and cooking. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Glenn B. Phillips; children, Lawrence Phillips, Wilmington, DE and Joan Comer, Elkton, MD; siblings, William Funk, Linda Perovich and R. Van Funk, all of Elkton MD; grandchildren, Monica Phillips, Shannon Phillips and Krysta Heikkila and seven great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by brothers, Wallace and Joseph Funk and grandson, Anthony Phillips. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 1 at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W., Stockton St., Elkton, MD where visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Boulden Chapel Cemetery.
