Joanne Lee (Scott) Lindsley, 81, of Tonganoxie, KS, formerly of Las Cruces, NM, was called to rest March 29, 2017. Joanne was born April 27, 1935, at St. Margaret Hospital, Kansas City, Kansas, along with her identical twin sister, Jeannine to Kenneth Hyatt Scott and Helen (Norris).

Joanne spent her early years growing up first in the Northeast area of Kansas City, Kansas and later in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In the year of 1957, she was enrolled in a nurses training clinic while residing with her twin sister and her brother in law in Big Spring, Texas. It was there that she met and married her husband, 1stLt. Kenneth P. Lindsley, a graduate of the pilot training class at Webb Air Base. During their following years of military service, while her husband was assigned at Oklahoma State University in 1963 thru 1965 for another degree, they became parents of fraternal twins, Stephen and Stephanie. Joanne completed additional studies during their time at OSU, and during the following years, while they were located at Kennedy Space Center, Joanne became a Registered Nurse and was employed as a staff nurse at Jess Parish Memorial Hospital in Titusville, Florida. Subsequent years took them to Las Cruces, New Mexico where she was employed as a staff nurse at Memorial Medical Hospital and as the Director of Nursing at the Good Samaritan Retirement Village. In January, 1983, she became the president-elect of the New Mexico Nurses Association, District 14 and at the association's State Convention was named the Nurse Administrator for the Year.

Always cheerful and loving, communicating, and remaining active on the internet using e-mail and Facebook to her final days; Joanne will be missed by those who kept up with her.

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents and by two of her four sisters Jeannine (Davidson) and Joyce Elain (Quellar). She is survived by her husband, Kenneth, her daughter, Stephanie (Vogel), her grandson Mitchell Vogel, by her son, Stephen and his wife, Cheryl (Lee), and by her two sisters, Lynn (English) and Leah (Barnes).

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, April 1, 2017, at the Hahn-Cook Street & Draper Funeral Directors, 6600 Broadway Ext., Oklahoma City, with internment at Rose Hill Burial Park, 6100 NW Grand Blvd, Oklahoma City.
