John A. Schwisow Sr

John was born August 18th 1943 in Daykin, Nebraska.
John had an older sister, Victoria, a twin brother, James and a younger brother, Mark.
The Schwisow family moved to Omaha, Ne in 1955 where John attended Omaha Public Schools. He graduated from South High School in 1962. John joined the Army in 1966 and was stationed in Germany until discharge in May of 1969.
John joined a local band as a drummer and began playing at local venues. On one of those occasions he met Judy K Smith whom he would marry on June 10th 1972. In 1973 John adopted JoLynn D Smith. August 14th 1973 brought John his son, John A. Schwisow Jr and on November 22nd 1977, his daughter, Joy M. Schwisow.
John was an avid bowler, loved tinkering with model trains and reel to reels, a lifetime St. Louis Cardinals fan, he loved Husker football, and enjoyed Budweiser beer. He participated in Benson Little League, Boy scouts and Bowling leagues with his children.
John worked for Fruehauf Bulk Trailers for much of his life. He was a faithful worker and only missed two days in his career, a funeral and his dog got hit by a car.
On October 18th 2000, John lost his wife of 28 years, Judy, to cancer.
John has 6 grandchildren, Jeremy, Peyton, Haleigh, Jewels, Maximilian and James; 2 great grandchildren, Molly and Lilly and an honorary grandchild, Abigail.
John was laid off from Fruehauf in 2001 and spent the years until his retirement working at Walmart.
John was blessed in finding loving companionship with Fran Maudlin for many years until her passing.
A diagnosis of cancer on February 7th 2017, devastated him and he wanted to fight it. He independently went to his appointments and continued to drive until a week before his death. John was a loyal friend, an honest man, very punctual and brought many to tears with his humor. He will be greatly missed and highly remembered.
