John Camilleri, 88, of Holly Springs, NC, formerly of Crossville, TN, passed away, Friday, November 17, 2017 at his home in Holly Springs.

John was born in Detroit, MI to the late Michele Camilleri and Concetta Marea Cini Camilleri, and was raised in Malta.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Faye Camilleri; son-in-law, Peter Azzopardi.

John is survived by his sons, John Stephens Camilleri and wife, Shannon, and Michael Camilleri and wife, Joy; daughter, Mary Azzopardi; sisters, Julie Vassallo and Mary Axiak; brothers, Fred Camilleri and Joseph Camilleri; and 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

John worked as a garment factory plant manager in Kingston, Jamaica and later he and his wife Joyce owned and operated their own business in Tennessee. However, his true passion was working with his hands. He built and created beautiful wood furniture and enjoyed projects from building houseboats to houses.

John was generous and always giving to his family and neighbors. Even after a debilitating stroke, he continued to help his family and found joy in working around the house and doing small projects with his son.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
