John E. "Jack" Gordon 79, a lifelong resident of Keene, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at the Cheshire Medical Center-Dartmouth Hitchcock-Keene with his loving family by his side.

He was born in Manchester, NH on October 2, 1937 the son of John E. and Jane (Wood) Gordon, Sr.

He grew up in Keene, attended Keene Schools and was a 1955 graduate of Keene High School. He served honorably with the US Army Headquarters, 4th Regiment Division at Fort Dix, NJ and following his discharge he continued to serve with the US Army Reserves.

Jack was employed as a tester and installer for the former New England Telephone and Telegraph Company for twenty-five year years.

He was an active member of the Bretwood Golf Club in Keene and a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He was an avid golfer, loved to play soft ball and was a member of the former Monadnock Blocks. He was an avid New England Sports fan and also a follower of the NASCAR Circuit.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Joyce M. (Mann) Gordon of Keene; two daughters; Lesley G. Wasko and her husband Ron "Murt" Wasko of Keene, NH, Lynne G. Thomas and Her husband Paul Thomas of North Hampton, NH; two granddaughters, Hannah Thomas and Meg Wasko; a niece Jill Miltner of Rochester, NH and a nephew Richard Collins of Bedford, NH; a brother-in-law, Dwight Mann and his wife Glenda of Katy, TX and a sister-in-law Louann Pierce and her husband David of Rochester, NH. He was predeceased by a brother, Richard W. Gordon and his grandson Sam Thomas.

Private services will be held later in the spring. There are no public visiting hours.
