John Edd "Boone" Carlon, age 82, of Jacksonville, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2017. He was born November 30, 1934 in Hattieville, Arkansas, a son to the late Walter Edgar Carlon and Mildred Blanch Ray Carlon. He was a retired engineer from Southwestern Bell, and was a member of the Valley View Church of Christ in Greenwood.
Survivors include his daughters, Johnna Ruth Carlon Lee of Jacksonville, Katherine Joann Carlon (Wesley) Reed of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Jon Wesley (Jennifer) Reed of Jonesboro, Brittany Rose Reed (Aaron) French of Clovis, New Mexico, Philip Kevin Lee, Jr. of Jacksonville; great grandchildren, Madeline and Loralie Reed of Jonesboro, Ian French of Clovis, New Mexico; brother, Ancel Ray Carlon of Morrilton, and sister, Melba Janice (Don) Deitrick of Falling Waters, West Virginia. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Walls Carlon; daughter, Jamie Sue Carlon; son in law, Philip Kevin Lee; great grandchildren, Benjamin Maxwell Reed, Felicity Ava Reed; siblings, Margaret Evelyn Edwards, Walter Raymon Carlon, Sarah Ermalee Burnett, James Edwin Carlon, Robert Harold Carlon, Gilbert Louis Carlon, Frances Marlene Carlon, Mildred Sue Carlon, and Doris Jean Himes.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 22, 2017, at Harris Chapel. Burial will be at Old Hickory Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
