John Graham Kimble, M.D. passed away unexpectedly on December 24, 2017. He was born in New Orleans on June 2, 1951 to Lynn Freeman and William Aitken Kimble.

He is survived by the love of his life, Patricia “Pat” DeLaune Kimble, his cherished children, Katie Arner (Chris), Emily Durant (Devon), John Kimble, Jr. (Adam Banks) and his adored grandchildren, Weldon and Graham Arner, and Blaire and Maya Durant. Also survived by his siblings, Steven W. Kimble, Linda K. Powell (James) and William “Bill” F. Kimble (Alison), and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.

John graduated from William and Mary College, and Louisiana State University School of Medicine. His training included an internship in General Surgery at Ochsner Foundation Hospital, and residency in Otolaryngology at Tulane School of Medicine. He was certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, and practiced at West Jefferson Medical Center for 39 years. Medical appointments at West Jefferson included Chairman, Department of Surgery; Chairman, Credentials Committee, and Member Executive Committee. His professional organizations included Louisiana State Medical Society, Jefferson Parish Medical Society, American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Greater New Orleans Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Society, and American College of Physician Executives.

This quiet, thoughtful man with a heart of gold will be deeply missed by his soul mate, Pat, his children and grandchildren, extended family and many, many friends and colleagues.

Friends and family are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Ave. Presbyterian Church, 1545 State Street, New Orleans. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. A private inurnment will take place at a later date.
