John J. Apley Sr. was born August 27, 1942 in Detroit to Rose and Joseph Apley. He family owned a farm in Roseville and he was a proud member of the metro-Detroit community his entire life. John passed away June 16, 2017 at his home in Warren. He was always active with his family; he coached his children's baseball teams when they were young and always made time for his Grandchildren. He enjoyed running and fishing and was always good for a joke. John is the beloved husband of Diane; dear father of John Jr. (Lisa), Nicholas, Cathryn, Theresa (Gary) Mernatti, Rebecca, and Angeline (Jim) Calcatera. Stepfather of Robert (Kelley) Copp, Glenn Copp, Cheryl (Ed) Strickland, and Kathryn Stewart. He was extremely proud of his grandchildren Joshua, Matthew, Joshua, Stephanie, Miranda, Devin, Shawnna, Ryan, Alyssa and T.J. Brother of Ken Apley. Services were held privately Arrangements entrusted to A.H. Peters Funeral Home
