John Joseph Maurer Whitehouse Station, NJ John Joseph Maurer, 50, of Whitehouse Station, NJ, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 08, 2017. Born in Tarrytown, NY, he was raised in Metuchen, NJ before moving to High Bridge where he resided for 6 years, before moving to Whitehouse Station 16 years ago. John was an entrepreneur who at one-time sold memory for computers. He was an owner/operator of Gameroom/ Bev & Wally’s for 22 years on the Keansburg Boardwalk. He then designed crane machines for arcades and owned several other businesses. A member of the NJ Amusement Association (NJAA) for 25 years, he served as President for 4 years and was on their Board of Directors for 14 years. John loved antique cars, pinball machines, computers, NASCAR, and spending quality time with his family. He hosted an annual balloon party at his home every year and always looked forward to it. He will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved him. Surviving are his beloved parents, Mary and Robert Maurer of Metuchen, NJ; his loving wife of 24 years, Kimberly; 2 loving sons, Andrew and Christopher of Whitehouse Station, NJ; his wonderful sister, Laura and husband Jeffrey Reeves of Edison, NJ; 2 dear brothers, Robert “Bob” and wife Susan “Sue” of Washington, NJ and Michael and wife Dawn of Flemington, NJ; his loyal dog, Rocket; and many adored nieces and nephews. Viewing will be held Friday, August 11, 2017 from 4:00-8:00pm and on Saturday, August 12, 2017 from 9:30-10:30am at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 10:30am, followed by interment at St. Bernard Cemetery in Bridgewater. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center 136 Mountain Boulevard, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920.
