John L. Patterson ("Petah") 73 of Havre de Grace, Maryland passed away at his home surrounded by the loved ones he adored. On Saturday March 28, 2015. He was born on February 13 in Dadeville, AL to the late Voncile and Helen Patterson. Moving to Maryland in 1962. Mr. Patterson was a Mixer/ Machine Operator for Cytec/ American Cyanamid for 38 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He adored all of them and rarely missed a day of their lives unless he was ill or out of town. He loved his restored vehicles such as his 64 Impala. He loved to cruise the streets of Havre de Grace in it and loved entering it into the annual HDG Parade and many car shows where he was so proud of the many trophies he won for the best in show. Hobbies included word searches, fishing with his grandson Josh, camping with his daughter Tina and helping his son Timmy at Patterson's Auto and his morning coffee with the love of his life Brenda. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Brenda Patterson, son Timmy Patterson and wife Lori of Elkton, MD, daughter Tina Hartsock and husband Al of Aberdeen, MD. 5 Grandchildren Jaime Hansen, Joshua Wilson, Meagan Patterson, Amanda Hartsock, Hannah Hartsock. 1 great-grandson Brenden Wilson. Brothers: Willie Joe Patterson and Mickey Patterson both of Dadeville, Al, Billy Wayne Patterson of Lafayette, AL, Sisters: Jessie Mae Patterson, and Betty Benton both of Opelika, Al and Annie Sue Baker of Dadeville, AL. In addition to his parents he was preceded by his sister Margie Patterson. A visitation will be held on Wednesday April 1 at Tarring-Cargo Funeral home in Aberdeen from 2-4 and 6-9. Funeral Service will be held on April 2 at 11 am at Tarring-Cargo also. Interment will be held at Harford Memorial Gardens.
