John was born on December 3, 1925 and passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018.

John was a resident of Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the time of passing.

He attended Christian school and at age 16, he left Michigan to stay with his uncle and work on the farm.

At 17, John joined the United States Navy and was on the second wave at Normandy Beach during WWII.

His Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at George Boom Funeral Home & Crematory with military honors at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 13, 2018, where the family will greet relatives and friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at George Boom Funeral Home & Crematory in Sioux Falls, SD.
