John was born on December 8, 1931 and passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2017.

John was a resident of Utah.

He did graduating from Weber County High School, attended Brigham Young University, graduated with his Bachelor's degree from the University of Omaha; and, received a master's degree from the University of Southern California. He also graduated from the prestigious National War College at Ft. McNair in Washington D.C.

He began his military career in the Air Force as an Airman Basic and retired as a Brigadier General thirty-three years later having served in a variety of high-level positions. John loved flying and served his country as a jet pilot, earning two Silver Stars. He earned the nickname "Lucky Lasater" as a reconnaissance pilot always returning from dangerous missions over Vietnam.

Add to My Calendar Monday, June 19, 2017 Viewings will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, June 18th, at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington
Boulevard, Ogden, Utah; and on Monday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the North Ogden 7th Ward building, 205 East Elberta Drive, North Ogden, Utah. Funeral services will be held Monday, June l9th, at the same location beginning at 11 a.m. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery with full military honors.

The family would request that in lieu of flowers that a contribution is made to the general missionary fund of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
