John Sanford Jr. Branchburg, NJ John Sanford Jr., 72 of Branchburg, NJ, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 17, 2017. Born in Manhattan, NY, he resided in Bayonne for many years before moving to Branchburg 31 years ago. He served on the Township Committee for 25 years and served as a mayor for 7 terms. John was also a part of the Branchburg Rotary Club. He also served as liaison to Planning Board, The Board of Adjustment; Board of Health, Parks & Recreation, Emergency Management Council, Open Space Advisory Council, and the Industrial Commission. Also, he was on the Board of Trustees for Midland School. He was a diehard Jets fan, an avid traveler, and collector of fine wines. John also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and had a great passion for cars. John was also a member of the Branchburg Republican Municipal Committee. He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Frances and John Sanford Sr, and his brother Bruce Sanford. Surviving are his 3 wonderful sons, Jon and his wife Tracy Sanford of Newnan, GA, Michael Palladino of Marlton, NJ, Paul and his wife Amanda Sanford of Newnan, GA; his loving fiancé Patricia Rees of Branchburg, NJ; 6 cherished grandchildren, Eric, Jessica, Paul, Kathryn, Kaitlyn and Makenzie, and 2 adored great-grandchildren, Landon and Millie. Viewing will be held Monday, May 22, 2017 between 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 US Highway 202 South Branchburg, NJ 08876.
