John was born on June 23, 1939 and passed away on Friday, May 12, 2017.

John was a resident of North Dakota at the time of passing.

He attended Hastings School and enjoyed 4H, especially showing cattle.

He entered the U.S. Army in 1962, completing basic training at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri, and military police school in Augusta, Georgia, before serving 20 months at the Army's Neckarsulm base near Stuttgart, Germany.

Visitation for Jack will be held Tuesday, May 16, from 5-7 p.m. at Oliver-Nathan Funeral Chapel, Valley City, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 17, at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Kathryn.
