JOHN YODER, 95, of Harlan, went to be with the Lord Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011. Born to the late Isaac and Kate (Wagler) Yoder, Jan. 29, 1916, in Davis County, Ind. He had been a skilled carpenter and farmer. He served as Pastor and Bishop of Cuba Mennonite Church for over 40 years. He had been instrumental in starting the Hicksville and Lamb of God Mennonite churches. He is survived by daughter, Ruth (Paul) Lengacher of Spencerville; sons, Marlin (Nancy) Yoder of Roanoke, and Calvin (Sharon) Yoder of Millersburg, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Viola Delagrange of Venice Fla. He was preceded in death by his wife, Amanda who passed away in 2010; sisters, Elizabeth Zehr and Rose Delagrange; brothers, Jacob and Pete Yoder. Service is 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011, at Cuba Mennonite Church, Harlan, with visitation one hour prior to service. Visitation also from 1 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, at the church. Arrangements by Hockemeyer Funeral Home, Harlan. Burial in Yaggy Cemetery, Grabill. Preferred memorials to missions.
