Jonathan Tyler Scott was born October 9, 1985 in St. Louis, Missouri to Nathan and Shari (Osborn) Scott. He is survived by his older brother Noah Scott of Kansas City, Missouri, younger brother Zachary (Hillary) Scott of Noblesville, Indiana, and younger sister Olivia Scott of St. Joseph, Missouri. On December 20, 2017 Jonathan passed from this life into the presence of our Lord.

He was proud of his nearly 8 years in the Army, serving in combat zones in Iraq for three different deployments.

His years of service included attachments with many different units and resulted in several unit citations, as well as individual awards, most notably receiving 3 different Army Commendation medals, awarded for distinguishing oneself by an action of heroism, or meritorious service.

While Jonathan took pride in his military accomplishments - it was the people, and the relationships built with those he served that were most important to him.

Family and friends will remember Jonathan had a laugh that will be missed - and a smile that could be both warm and sincerely welcoming; but his grasp of the subtleties of sarcasm and wit was a thing of beauty – as long as you were not his target.

For these reasons, and so many, many more, Jonathan will be deeply missed by his friends and family – and we wait anxiously for the day when by the grace of our Lord Jesus - we are reunited.

Services for Jonathan Scott will be conducted at Northland Cathedral, 101 NW 99th Street – Kansas City, Missouri 64155. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to City Union Mission.
