Jonathan Truman Walte, 29, of Iowa City, IA, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 in Iowa City, IA. He was born on May 24, 1987 in Fort Madison, IA to Joe Walte & Mary McDowell. He was a construction worker and member of the Carpenter's Union #1260. He was very charismatic and had the ability to make you mad and then laugh. Jon had a way of making you remember him and touched many lives. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan and had a passion for all sports.
Jon is survived by: his father & step mother: Joe (Tresa) Walte of Bonaparte, IA; his mother: Mary McDowell of Fort Madison, IA; 1-brother: Joe (Donielle) Walte of Salem, IA; 2-half brothers: Frank & Sam McCollum both of Fort Madison, IA; 1-step brother: Nevada (Ann) Lyon of Fort Madison, IA; 1-step sister: LaShae (Jake) Corder of Ottumwa, IA; his paternal grandparents: Milt & Marilyn Walte of Keokuk, IA; several nieces & nephews, cousins and extended family and his special friend: Lauren Marie of Iowa City, IA. He was preceded in death by: his maternal grandparents and 1-uncle.
Cremation has been entrusted to King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A celebration of life will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory in Fort Madison. A burial will be held at a later date at Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk, IA. A memorial has been established in his memory.
