Jose "George" Machado, 63, of St. Elizabeth Street passed away on May 15, 2017 at Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center.

Born in Rabo de Peixe, St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of Belmira (Andrade) Machado and the late Mariano Tavares Machado. He is survived by his daughter Amanda Sousa and her husband Christopher; grandchildren Logan Sousa and Milani Sousa; sisters Maria Germano and her husband Joao, Laudalina Cabral and her husband Fernando; and his brother Adelino Machado. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews as well as his companion Barbara. He was the father of the late Justin Machado.

Mr. Machado attended Bristol Schools and was a custodian with the Bristol Warren Regional School District until he retired in 2012. He was a member of the Bristol Sports Club, Lincoln Club and Giant Runt Pigeon Club of North America. He also enjoyed playing pool and fishing.

His funeral services will be held Friday, May 26th, 10 AM from the George Lima Funeral Home 367 High Street with a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth's Church 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bristol.
