Joseph F. Barker, 55, of Robbinsville, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on Sunday, February 11, 2018. Born in Woburn, Mass., Joe was a loving and devoted husband to Jane (Luciano) Barker and an incredibly dedicated father to Austin, Jack and Matthew. Predeceased by his parents, John and Kathleen (Oxley) Barker and brother, Kevin. Joe was larger than life in making a tangible difference in the lives of so many children and seniors as the Recreation Director for Robbinsville Township. Joe’s unrivaled passion for his work, his friends and the family he loved so dearly never took a day off. He coached countless youth teams in every imaginable sport for more than 17 years after relocating to Robbinsville, and he was constantly looking for ways to make recreation more accessible for the young and old alike. Prior to moving to Robbinsville, Joe worked in the logistics and supply chain industries, and was a former executive for Mobil Oil. A graduate of Northeastern University, he was a longtime sports fan of the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, Boston Celtics, and he loved his summer family time in Forked River. Additionally, Joe is survived by his brothers, Barry, Tony and Stephen; his wonderful mother in law, Alice Luciano; god-daughter, Brianna Barker and the entire Barker and Luciano Family, which includes many brother and sister-in laws, nieces and nephews whom Joe loved so very much. Visitation for friends and family will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018, from 2:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at St. Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Church, 4620 Nottingham Way, Hamilton, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Church of the Assumption Cemetery, 76 Evergreen Road, New Egypt, NJ. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Joe’s memory to Ability Tree NJ, P.O.
