Joseph "Joe" Flenna, age 83, died January 26, 2017. Loving and devoted husband of Judith (Judy) for 38 years . Dearest father of Frank (Katherine) Flenna, Anthony (Theresa) Flenna, Karen (the late Michael) Bartone, Joann (Kevin) Priester and Joseph E. (Mihaela) Flenna. Dear grandfather of Neil Flenna, Clare Flenna, Jack Flenna and Harley Flenna. Joe was one of 4 children. Predeceased by his parents, John and Vincenzina and his siblings: The late Frank Flenna, the late Jack Flenna and the late Gina Delesi.

Joe was a two career man. In the first half of his career life he worked as a steelworker for J & L Steel. He was proud to say that he made the steel that was used to create the St. Louis Arches. The second half of his career life he was a chemist with United Resin. He was a very proud United States Marine Corp Veteran who served in the Korean War and was an active member of the American Legion Post #4 in Mt. Clemens. Joseph loved to travel especially to Las Vegas and Arizona. He enjoyed watching westerns, gardening, playing cards, bowling, golfing and spending time with his family. He was known for his great sense of humor, quick wit and being the life of the party.

The family will receive guests for a visitation on Monday, January 30, 2017 from 3-8 p.m. with a Rosary service at 7 p.m. at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road, Clinton Township, MI 48038.

The Funeral Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 95 Market Street, Mt. Clemens, MI 48043 (In State begins at 9:00 a.m.)
Joseph will be laid to rest in Resurrection Cemetery with Committal Prayers and a Military Honors ceremony presented by the United States Marine Corp Funeral Honors Team.
