Joseph L. Gensic, 83 of Markle passed away at 12:35 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at his residence. Mr. Gensic worked for Gensic Creative Metals for 47 years retiring in 2008. He had also owned and operated Gensic Plastering for 10 years and was Co-Owner of the Travel World travel agency in Bluffton & Huntington for 15 years. He was a 1946 graduate of Rock Creek Twp. High School. He was a member of the Markle Archery Club and attended the Warren Church of Christ. Joseph enjoyed working around his home and spending time with his family.

Mr. Gensic was born on April 30, 1928 in Markle, a son of Ignas and Francis (Prcic) Gensic. He was united in marriage to Beverly Warner on July 31, 1947 at the Methodist Church Camp in Lake Webster, IN. His wife survives.

Additional survivors include two daughters: Debra (Gary) Waldron of Markle and Marcy Gensic of Valley Village, CA; a son Joseph L. (Jane) Gensic II of Alton, IL; a brother Steve (Jeanette) Gensic of Warren; 4 grandchildren: Matthew Waldron, Megan Waldron, B.J. (Kalyn) Gensic and Alison (Breandan) Finch, and a great grandson Shepherd Joseph Gensic. He was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 17, 2011 from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home, Markle Chapel, 413 N. Lee Street, Markle, IN 46770.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Ethan Stivers officiating. There will be 1 hour of visitation prior to the service on Saturday.

Interment will be in the St. John's Cemetery in rural Markle, Wells County.
