Joseph Thomas Loyacano, a devoted husband, father and grandfather, passed away on Thursday, August 10 2017 at the age of 97. He was a native New Orleanian, proud veteran of the U.S. Navy who served in the Pacific during WWII and an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Toastmasters, and Free Masonry.



He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 70 years, Catherine Loyacano. Survived by his children, Carol Ann Loyacano, James J. Loyacano and grandson, Joseph J. Loyacano.



A very special thanks to Toni and Ray Shaub, Vincent, Butch, Taboni and so many members of his family and friends who helped care for him with much love and compassion. With loving thanks to the good Sisters Servants of Mary who cared for him in his final days.



Services to be held on Friday, August 18 at Lake Lawn Funeral Home, with viewing to begin at 10:00AM.



Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Friday, August 18, 2017 at 12:00pm in the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans. Visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 10:00am until service time. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park and Mausoleum.
