Joseph William Wilson of Benton, LA., passed away February 11, 2018 in Bossier City, LA. With his family by his side. He was 84 years old. Joe was born to Dutch & Juanita Wilson June 15, 1933 in Ardmore, OK.
He is preceded in death by his parents. He leaves behind his wife Zada Carter Wilson, three sons, Todd & Gina Wilson of Water Valley, MS., Mark and April Wilson of Bossier City, LA. And Scott Wilson and Liz of Owasso, OK. 3 Grandchildren, Kristal and Doug Summers of Haughton, La, Ciara Wilson of Oxford, MS. and Christopher Wilson of Shreveport, LA. Two great grandchildren, Dallas and Preslee Jo Summers of Haughton, La. One sister Oleta Eyerman of Barling, AR. Many nieces and nephews.
Joe was a Navy Veteran, he served in the Korean Conflict and Cold War aboard the air craft carrier USS Princeton from 1954-1958. Joe was retired from the traffic and transportation business. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, making bird houses and oil painting. He was a member of Cypress Baptist Church of Benton, LA.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 15, at Harris Funeral Home in Morrilton, AR with Bro. Dwight Scott officiating. Burial will be at Cherry Hill Cemetery in Cherry Hill, AR by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Pallbearers will be: Leon Carter, Rusty Carter, Bradley Stevenson, Joe Eyerman, Doug Summers and John Parham.
