Josephine Kruszewski Sponer Eide of Leesburg, FL entered the gates of Heaven on November 29, 2017 at 2:59 am. Born and raised in Detroit, MI. Jo was preceded in death, by her husband Clarence Eide, parents and her brother Bud Komorek. Josephine is survived by her sister Dorothy Olszewski, brothers Conrad and Richard Kruszewski, her children: Curtis (Betty) Sponer, Lisa (Karl) Hippelheuser, Gregory, Christopher, Joanna Sponer, Clarence T Eide III (Alice), Marsha (Tim) Norton, Monica (Vernon) Conner, 16 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren.

Though Jo was born and raised in Detroit, the winters seemed to get colder by the year, so the Sponer family packed up and moved to Florida in 1973. The children in school, Jo looked for part time work and found her niche in retail commission sales for Sears and Roebuck where she stayed for 15 years. This is where she met her wonderful husband Bud, and together they built an amazing combined family for 36 years.

Josephine was an exceptional daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her love, compassion and sincerity will be cherished forever. Family was most important to her in life. Often stated that she had 5 children so she would have lots of grandchildren so her home would always be full, and it was! The wonderful holiday and birthday celebrations in her home will be remembered by us all! Oh the laughter, love and superb aroma of the traditional Polish food that would greet us at Momma's door is a treasure that will be remembered in our hearts forever.

The holidays always brought out the best of her recipes, but Christmas was the grand occasion and there would be as many as 28 grandchildren, along with her dear friends on Christmas Eve, then a visit from Santa to celebrate the holiday. Those memories will last forever.

Momma stood very strong always of our Polish heritage. She was a STRONG Polish Woman, Yes?! Amazingly though, for all that she put into her family, she also managed to give to herself. Josephine loved to travel with her husband Bud, they enjoyed so many places, England, France, Spain, Aruba, Alaska, Mexico and Italy. Together they navigated by boat thru many waterways with their great friends Jack and Bonnie. Oh how the casino could brighten her eyes! Her life was lived very full and on her terms always.

As a sister to her siblings, Josephine created a special bond through love and trust known only to them. As a mother she taught by example and always showed her children great love. As a loyal and devoted wife she made her husband very proud to be married to her. And with the addition of a blended family Mom always showed love and affection to all.

We must always keep in mind that life can be short and to have had such a beautiful person taken from us too soon we are all very fortunate to have known Josephine and to keep her memory in our hearts forever.

A Celebration of Jo’s life will be on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 1 pm at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home in Winter Garden, FL.
