Josephine Helen Tamburo Delhi, Louisiana Funeral services for Mrs. Josepine B. Tamburo, 103, will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 23, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Delhi with Rev. Todd Perry and Sammy Tamburo officiating. Visitation will be held at the First Baptist Church on Thursday, March 22, 2018 from 5-8 PM. Burial will be in the Delhi Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Delhi. Mrs. Tamburo was born on January 29, 1915 one of thirteen children born to the union of Pete Battaglia and Rosa Lalumia. On her 100th birthday, the Town of Delhi honored her by renaming the block of Ohio Street in Delhi where she lived "Tamburo" street. Ms. Josephine is preceded in death by her parents, eight siblings, Sam, Joe, Mike and Angelo Battaglia, Shirley Palone, Laura Butts, Sarah Cicero and Lena Grasso; her husband Jim Vincent Tamburo and a beloved granddaughter Amber Tamburo. She is survived by three sons, Frank Vincent Tamburo Sr. and Gerald Tamburo (Barbara) both of Delhi, LA and Jimmy Tamburo (Carolyn) of Tallulah, LA; five grandchildren Alyssa Tamburo, April Tamburo, Frank Vincent Tamburo Jr., Joseph Tamburo and Scotty Bullock; 4 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and 1 great great great granchild. Mrs. Tamburo is also survived by four siblings Rose Burdine, Katy Fontana, Anne Battaglia and Johnny Battaglia all of Monroe, LA and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jack Bradley, Glen Weems, Buddy Heygood, Reginald Fontana, Charles Grey and Terry McKnight. Honorary Pallbearers will be Roger Calhoun, Dr. Paul Grandon, James Bryan, Glynn Terral, Mike Tillman, Ken Thornton and Charles Tharpe, Dr. Sam Scurria, Dr. Michael Cage and Mickey Carroll.
