Mrs. Josephine ("Jo") Landy, of 3110 Oak Shadow Lane, Pensacola, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2018 at Covenant Hospice. She was 90.

Born on July 27, 1927 to Alfredo and Rose (Ianni) DiMatteo in Oakfield, New York, Jo resided for much of her life in New Hartford, New York, where she raised a family of three children while working as a dental hygienist. She frequently skied with her family at McCauley Mountain in the Adirondacks. She relocated to Watertown, New York, with her husband, Jack, where she opened a picture framing shop. The two spent their winters at their second home in Montserrat, West Indies before establishing their home in Pensacola.

Active throughout her senior years, Jo enjoyed watercolor painting, golf and bridge. She was a volunteer at Baptist Hospital and served her church, St. Paul Catholic Church, as a Eucharistic Minister. She had many friends in the community.

She was predeceased by her husband, Jack C. Landy, her son, Richard P. Morette, and her brothers Orlando and Mario DiMatteo. She is survived by her son, Joseph (Beverly) Morette, of Madison, Mississippi and daughter, Donna (Lee) Alcott, of Syracuse, New York, a sister, Jennifer Salerno, of White Plains, New York, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In Jo's own words, "my blessings were my children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren."

The family would like to thank Covenant Hospice at Sacred Heart Hospital and West Florida Home Care for their dedication and compassion in caring for Jo.

A memorial mass for Jo will be held at St. Paul Catholic Church, 3131 Hyde Park Rd., Pensacola on Tuesday, January 23 at 10:00 a.m. A private internment will take place in the spring.
