Joy Emery age 84 of Hillsboro died Saturday, December 1, 2012 at her home. She was born January 8, 1928 near Hillsboro, Ohio the daughter of the late Gerald and Mary Hazel Williams Hopkins. Mrs. Emery had been the legal secretary for Ronald Swonger, Attorney-At-law, for thirty years. She was a member of the Allensburg Church of Christ and the Highland County Senior Citizens. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon "Sherry" (Dana) Corzatt of Columbus, two grandchildren, Kim Slick of Columbus, Kyle Corzatt of Mt. Sterling, five great grandchildren, Rebecca and Jonathan Slick, Samantha, Eric and Sara Corzatt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence W. Emery on August 17, 1986 and two brothers, Dean and Paul Hopkins. Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday December 5th at the Allensburg Church of Christ. Bob Stevens will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Allensburg Church of Christ. Memorial contributions may be made to the Allensburg Church of Christ, Mission GIJAPA, 7105 Abernathy Road, Lynchburg, Ohio 45142. The Turner & Son Funeral Home is serving the family.
