Joyce Anne Spease, 79, of Richmond, departed this life and entered the presence of her Lord on Friday, September 22, 2017. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert C. Inge; mother, Mary N. Inge; daughter, Nancy Elizabeth, and brother, Edward L. Inge. She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years Ronald Monroe; children, Ronald Jr. of King William, VA, Sandra, Sharon, Michael of Powhatan, VA and Daniel (Julie) of Richmond, KY; adopted son Kenny Miller of Richmond, VA; sister, Jean Wilson of Richmond, VA; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren, as well as numerous children she fostered throughout the years. Joyce “Nanny”, as she was lovingly known, found her joy in life by bringing joy to others. It was exceedingly rare to find her without a smile on her face, song in her heart, and hum on her lips. Joyce loved gardening, baking, her incredible backyard fish pond, most of all her family and the Lord. A lifelong resident of Richmond, Joyce, Ronald, and family also spent many cherished years at River Ridge and Lake Gaston in Bracey, VA, boating, fishing, playing golf, or just spending irreplaceable quality time together as a family. True to her namesake, the joy that Joyce brought into this world will be incredibly missed by all of her family and friends. Her family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday, September 26 at Morrissett Funeral and Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10). A Celebration of her Life will be held 10 am on Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Dale Memorial Park.
