I have kept the faith; henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” II Timothy 4:7-8 Ms. Juanita Myers, daughter of Paul G. Sr. and Henrietta Johnson Myers, was born on July 22, 1927 in Florence County, South Carolina. She departed her earthly life on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Carolinas Hospital System. Juanita was educated in Florence School District One School System. She later graduated from Morris College in Sumter, South Carolina. Juanita was formerly employed with the Department of Treasury in Washington, DC. Later, she was employed as a school teacher in Virginia. Once she relocated back to Florence, she became a librarian at the Florence County Public Library. She was a member of Savannah Grove Baptist Church, where she sang on the Senior Choir. She also was a member of the Florence County Educators Retired Teacher Association, the Morris College Association, and the Florence Chapter of the NAACP. Juanita had a great love for playing the piano and singing. Some of her favorite songs were: “How Great Thou Art,” “Precious Lord,” “It Is Well” and “Life’s Railway to Heaven.” Also she never gave birth to any children, she was truly a mother to all of her nieces and nephews and she will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters: Claudia McWoods, Rosa D. Myers, Bertha M. Cummings and Jannie M. Cooper; and four brothers: Jullian G. Myers, Paul B. Myers, Gillespie Myers and Robert Myers, Sr. She is survived by: her sister, Laura M. Cussac; two brothers, Henry (Anna) Myers and Wilson Myers; sister-in-law, Mozella Myers; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
