June Louise Maitoza
June 4, 1934~March 30, 2016 Resident of Aptos
June Maitoza passed away peacefully surrounded by family on the morning of Wednesday, March 30, 2016 in Monterey. Married to her husband of 45 years, Walter J. Maitoza, they raised and loved five children. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Wanda and Stephen Braveman, Trudy Maitoza and Otis Coen, Walter Jr and Joannie Maitoza, Ronald and Martine Maitoza and Cheryl and Steve Rusconi. Her twelve grandchildren have blessed her with nineteen great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother and his wife, William and Connie Anctil of Oregon and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
June's passion, aside from her large family and numerous friends, was golf. She worked at Seascape Golf Course at the Charity hole, for over fourteen years. Nothing except an occasional gambling weekend, got her as excited as playing golf.
She enjoyed working for the Pajaro Valley Unified School District in the resource department for over 25 years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Valley Catholic Church on Friday, April 8, 2016 at 1 pm with burial to follow at Valley Public Cemetery. Mehl's Colonial Chapel was entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
