Junior E. Woodcock, 94, of Lincoln, NE passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 7th. He was born January 4, 1923 to Charles and Delia Woodcock in Westmorland, KS. He was one of nine children. He served in the Army during WWII from 1943-1945. He was in the Battle of the Bulge. He had to sneak behind enemy lines to deliver fuel to Gen. Patton's Troops and was one of the first to arrive in Paris, France for the liberation.




He was a Brick Mason and was a union member for 70 years, receiving the Golden Trowel Award. Many buildings in Lincoln he helped build. He was a life member of the American Legion Post 354 and the VFW post 3606 for 58 years. He served as Post Commander, Club Manager, and Quartermaster for over 40 years. He has many awards for his local and state community services. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved doing that with his sons and teaching the grandchildren.


He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Mary; children, Darlene (Alan) Budt, Tim (Lucy) Woodcock, Tom Woodcock and Shelly (Frank) Ulrich; grandchildren, Nicole, Ryan and Chance all of Lincoln; brother, Rex (Daisy) of Gillette, WY and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
