Dr. Nutt was born on May 8, 1972 and passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2016.

Dr. Nutt was a resident of Ormond Beach, Florida at the time of passing.

She attended Rivet Catholic High School in Vincennes. Karen held a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology MIT and also attended classes at Harvard University while living in Boston. She went on to receive a PhD in Integrative Biology from the University of California at Berkeley.

The family will receive friends on Friday March 11 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM EST at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Vincennes Chapel 313 Church St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday March 12 at 11:00 AM EST at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Rev. Dave Fleck officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Karen Nutt STEM Scholarship at Rivet High School 210 Barnett Street Vincennes IN 47591.
