The heavens gained a guardian angel when Karen R. Burke 55, of Park Avenue, Keene, NH, passed away surrounded in love by her children, on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, NH.

She was born in Cardwell, Missouri on February 27, 1962, the daughter of Mitchell Hobart and Audrey Faye (Smith) Riddell.

Karen resided in a lot of different places in the south consisting of many states mostly in the Ozark Mountains for many years before moving to the Keene area where she has lived for the past 20 years.

For Karen there was nothing more important in this world to her than her children and grandchildren. Her granddaughters, "Nana's Angels", were her entire world. The pride she had for them and her children was simply breathtaking.

She was always there for others giving and helping in any way she could. She would find a way to help anyone in need. Her love for animals was extraordinary and they knew it. They were humans to her, best friends. She loved plants and also had a "green thumb" and could grow a plant from what seemed like nothing.

The lives of many will forever be changed with Karen's passing but not as much as those of her family, especially her children, Aubrey Donelle Simonds and her husband, Christopher, of Swanzey, NH, Mitchell Shade Riddell of Keene, her twins, Rory Faye Storm Riddell and Harley Ray Gage Riddell, both of Keene; her treasured granddaughters, Paetyn Grace Belle Simonds, twins, Taylor Jane Ann Simonds and Emma Elizabeth Lynn Simonds, all of Swanzey; her siblings, Michael Smith, William Smith, Donnie Smith, Margaret Smith, Brenda Sipes, Tonya Dill, Tammy Riddell-McGuire, Misti Riddell; and her many nieces and nephews including her niece, Kandi Smith.

Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, May 14, 2017 from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene, NH. A graveside service and celebration of Karen's life will be held on Monday, May 15, 2017 at 1:00PM in the Mountain View Cemetery, Old Homestead Highway (Route 32), Swanzey.
