Katherine Rayhart, a resident of Annapolis for all of her 102 years, passed away of natural causes at Anne Arundel Medical Center on May 23, 2017. She was born in Annapolis on February 24, 1915 to the late Lucy and Noman Tucker. Katherine graduated High School and held several jobs but none more important than the last, as a homemaker to her family. A member of the Elks Lodge, she enjoyed playing cards but found fulfillment by being with family and friends, telling stories and just sharing the family lore. Katherine still lived alone at home right up to two days before she passed away. She was a very independent lady but still looked forward to her sons visiting and taking her to her traditional Friday 10:30 hairdresser appointments and trips to the grocery store.

Katherine met John Raymond Rayhart and they married on April 6, 1942. John preceded her in death on January 14, 1975. She is survived by her two sons: John R. Rayhart Jr.; Thomas R. Rayhart and his wife Lutie (all of Annapolis), three grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by all eight of her siblings.

The family will receive friends at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis, MD 21401 on Tuesday, May 30 from 10am to 11am. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, May 30 at 11am. Interment to follow at Cedar Bluff Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to the American Cancer Society will be appreciated.
