Claire Kikuye (Kay) Flake is absent from her body and present with Jesus. She passed away Sunday, December 10th at Wuesthoff Hospice House in Rockledge, Florida at the age of 94. Kay was born in Wailuku, Hawaii and had a career in civil service. She survived the attack on Pearl Harbor as a teenager. Kay was an active member of First Baptist Church Merritt Island, involved in various ministries including the church choir and the House of Hope Ministry. Kay had a servant's heart, especially to her husband. She is survived by her husband, Lin Flake and his two children Cindy Brown and pastor Darryl Flake. She is also survived by her two younger sisters, Jean Auki and Nancy Saiki, both of Hawaii, and several nieces and nephews. Our thanks to the personal care at Wuesthoff Hospital and to Dr. Acosta and Dr. Brodnan. Memory donations can be made to House of Hope ministry c/o FBCMI.
