Kenneth Mel Packard passed away peacefully on September 22nd with his family by his side after his courageous battle against cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Lisa McGrath Packard and his two daughters, Hillary and Nicole.

Ken was born in 1961 in New York and moved to Thousand Oaks, CA with his parents at the age of 7. He attended Thousand Oaks High School and Chico State University, graduating in 1984. He went on to pursue a career in Information Technology and worked for Hughes Aircraft and Dreamworks Pictures and went on to create his own business, Omega Point Information Technology.

He was a devoted husband and caring father who enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his daughters, coaching their sports teams and hitting the golf links with his friends and family. "Coach Ken" was a mentor to many local kids and had a personal mission to help them pursue their athletic and scholastic goals.

Services will be held Friday at 2 pm at Pierce Brothers Memorial Chapel in Westlake Village (5600 Lindero Canyon Rd., Westlake Village, CA 91362).

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please make any donations out to the Ken Packard Memorial Scholarship Fund to benefit scholar athletes. You may send your checks to the Ventura County Community Foundation (4001 Mission Oaks Blvd Suite A, Camarillo, CA 93012).
